Atiku to Remain in Party - PDM Insist

There were protests by stakeholders in the Peoples Democratic Movement (PDM) over reported bid by former vice president Atiku Abubakar to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC) to try his presidential ambition.

Party stakeholders at a meeting which held at the Yar’Adua Center yesterday appealed to the former VP to remain with the party saying they were ready to offer him the party’s platform to contest in 2015.

3000 APC Members Defect To PDP In Yobe - National Mirror

The PDP in Yobe State has claimed that 3000 members of the ruling APC in the state have dumped the party and joined the PDP.

The state chairman of the party Alhaji Lawan Gana, Karasuwa who disclosed this to newsmen in his country home in Karasuwa Gaalu noted that the defection of the APC members to the PDP was as a result of the reconciliatory approach recently adopted by the party in the state. According to the chairman, all the 3,000 that defected were from the governor’s home town in Yunusari, Alhaji Ibrahim Gaidam.

Govt shutdown: Mu’azu, govs, PDP Reps in crucial meeting to block APC - Vanguard

Apparently rattled by the threat by All Progressives Congress in the National Assembly to block all government legislations until the Rivers State crisis was resolved, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, yesterday, summoned its caucus members in the House of Representatives to an emergency meeting.

Vanguard gathered that the meeting which is being called by the leadership of the party is to be presided over by the newly-appointed National Chairman of the Party, Alhaji Ahmed Adamu Mu’azu with the 18 PDP governors in attendance.

The meeting, which is slated for today at 8pm in 2.31 in the New Building, has been described by the House Leader, Adeola Akande, as ‘very crucial’.

MISS TOURISM NIGERIA 2014 LAUNCHED + ORGANIZERS ANNOUNCE AUDITION CITIES & DATES

The MISS TOURISM NIGERIA 2014 contest has been declared open in Lagos.
With the theme ‘See My State First’, organizers of the project: Qhue Concepts says the event would see sixty finalists who would be selected from the nationwide regional screening to be conducted in over ten(10) states between March and April 2014. This would then be followed by a three (3) week long short code SMS voting process to reduce the top sixty to thirty seven (37).

The thirty seven (37) who makes it through the voting process would be unveiled in an exclusive fashion party to be hosted by Scintilla; one of the leading partners of the Miss Tourism Nigeria Organization. The Final thirty seven (37) would undergo another online voting process via the Miss Tourism Nigeria website and its Official Facebook Fan Page.

According to Santiago Roberts, President of the Miss Tourism Nigeria Organization, the 2014 event promises to be fun and exciting, with loads of hard work but also, very rewarding.

Breaking News - Sterling Bank vs Federal Govt and Niger Delta Youths

This information has cut across the nation that the federal government of Nigeria are introducing an empowerment scheme to pay Niger delta youths a 100k each through Sterling Banks across the Niger Delta areas in Nigeria.

All over the Niger Delta areas especially Port Harcourt and Yenagoa the capitals of  Rivers state and Bayelsa state respectively.

Millions of people and nairas have been deposited to sterling banks through out the month of December 2013 and people are just trooping in and out everyday, both the computer centers are been used to forge documents like Rivers and Bayelsa local government identification letters respectively.

According to one of the depositor and  also an enroller of the empowerment scheme who l interviewed, one Mr James Okom from Abua local government who told me that sterling bank are collecting 1k each to fill and submit with a passport, lga identification letter, voters card and one passport photograph from them to be part of the empowerment scheme and after payment that an alert will be sent to them in 5 working days.
He said is sterling bank at lagos bus stop collects 2k each from people who submitted there, Aguma garrison bus stop collected 1k each and sterling bank at trans amadi collected 1k each too, for the Port Harcourt branches.

The breaking News today is that after many days of collections of forms and submission, sterling Bank came up this morning with and announcement on radio, social media, written and typed on all there branches and posted on their walls which states.....
