The Roadmap To Brick House Is Sure.. Rivers Think Dakuku This 2016 - Thankgod Ode

VP Left.. PMB Middle.. Dr Dakuku Rivers Governor Right

Hon Dr Dakuku Adol Peterside, the Rivers State All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate is someone who likes to tread where even angels are afraid to tread.

Dr Peterside is a native of Biriye, Opobo Kingdom of Rivers State. A true Nigerian, Dr Peterside grew up in Azumini and Aba, both in present-day Abia State, as well as in Kaduna and Port Harcourt. Dakuku attended Okrika Grammar School (OGS), University of Science and Technology, Port Harcourt, University of Port Harcourt, Georgia State University Atlanta, USA, and is also an alumnus of Harvard-Kennedy School, University of Harvard, USA.

Rt Hon Amaech left.. Dr Dakuku Right

He earned degrees in Medical Laboratory Sciences (Haematology), Business Administration (Management) and certificates in Leadership and Project Management respectively. He has attended several oil and gas courses globally.

Dr Peterside is a member of the Nigeria Institute of Management (NIM), fellow of Institute of Management Consultants of Nigeria (IMCN) and member, Institute of Medical Laboratory Sciences of Nigeria.

The great Philosopher, John C. Maxwell, with Dr Peterside in mind, postulated thus: “A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way.” In living this truism, prior to being elected to the House of Representatives, Dakuku served twice as Rivers State Commissioner for Works (2007-2011), during which time he anchored Governor Rotimi Amaechi’s phenomenal transformation of roads and infrastructural landscape of Rivers State. He concurrently served on the Board of Greater Port Harcourt Development Authority (GPHCDA).

Before serving as Rivers State Commissioner of Works, Dr Peterside served as Executive Director of Development and Leadership Institute (DLI) between 2005 and 2007, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Rivers State on Works (2003-2005), Chairman, Opobo-Nkoro LGA (2002-2003). As LGA chairman he was declared the most outstanding Chairman by the then State Governor of Rivers State, Dr. Peter Odili. He previously served as Special Assistant to the Rivers State Governor on Youth and Student affairs and concurrently as a member of Board, Centre for Black and African Arts and Civilisation (CBAAC), A Federal Government arts and research establishment.

Engr.Ode ThankGod Right
Dr Peterside has at various times turned down at least 14 chieftaincy titles, several honourary doctorate degrees and awards, rather believing in the people as a reason for service. In the House of Representatives he serves as Chairman of the strategic Petroleum Resources (Downstream) Committee that oversees the management of the key driver of Nigeria’s economy (Petroleum Industry). Dakuku also serves in the House most important committees of Anti-Corruption, National Ethics and Values; Drugs, Narcotics and Financial Crimes; Co-operation and Integration in Africa, Electoral Matters; Industry; Communications and Works. He is a well known champion of reform and strengthening of institutions as the key to unlocking development potentials.

Deputy Governor left... Rivers Governor Right

A good family man Dakuku Peterside, is married to Elima, a lawyer, and they are blessed with three children: Soba, Belema and Miebi. He is a committed Christian who believes his relationship with Jesus Christ is what gives meaning to life.

According to Rivers APC Chairman, Dr. Davies Ibiamu Ikanya, “Dr. Peterside is a well-brought-up youthful manager of men and resources who has been prepared for leadership by the invaluable lessons he received from elders across the State.”

DR DAKUKU PETERSIDE AND HIS MISSION

Anointed and Gifted Governor of River State

Here is what Dr Peterside has to say about his mission: “We bring a roadmap of wealth for Rivers State anchored on a legacy and foundation of prosperity laid by Governor Chibuke Amaechi. We all know Governor Amaechi’s legacies in education, health, agriculture and other areas. He has built world-class schools and hospitals in every nook and cranny of the state. His health centres can match any standard hospital found anywhere in the world. We have unveiled our campaign plans and programme and we can be judged by our vision and contract with Rivers State and our people contained in the Roadmap to Prosperity at the end of our tenure if elected.

This is RIVERS PROJECT. It is not about APC. We invite everybody to come on board, join us to move Rivers State to the next level. Rivers people’s support for me is overwhelming. I really appreciate the outpouring of love. I thank all Rivers people. I will not disappoint you. APC members rely on God and I will continue to rely on God. I do not depend on my strength or ability. I will ensure unity in Rivers State. All Rivers people will have roles to play in my administration, when elected as governor by God’s grace. Our doors will be wide open.”

Dr Dakuku Year of speed

Dr Peterside a non-violent politician par excellence who knows the worth of human blood and life and that is why he has continued to preach the peaceful conduct of the forthcoming re run 2016 elections in order to perpetuate and sustain the country’s democratic experiment. Hear him: “Electoral victories like mine could only make meaning when it is won without violence. I abhor violence; no victory in any election and indeed in any human endeavour in life is worth the blood of anyone; no victory is worth the life of any person.”

CONCLUSION

In conclusion, I wish to say without fear of contradiction that Dr Peterside is a symbol of unity, visionary, egalitarian and, most importantly, a great patriot whose love for Rivers State and her people is infectious. Here is a man who has earned a reputation as a charismatic and disciplined leader; creative and hardworking, a broad-minded fellow with strategic insight who brings integrity, compassion, pro-poor perspective and intellectual dimension to bear in tackling tough national issues; a man whose loyalty to friendship and bridge-building skills are remarkable; an international resource person on oil and gas matters; a leading leadership/management scholar and speaker in leading conferences around the world; and a respected authority in corporate political strategy and Business-Govt interaction in Nigeria.

Change you can see and feel.. Rivers Think Dakuku

Indeed, the great people of Rivers State have every reason to proudly endorse Dr Dakuku Adol Peterside as their next Governor after the departure of the goal-oriented Rt. Hon Chibuike Amaechi. With Dr Peterside in the saddle, the future of Rivers State is truly great. We therefore wait his crowning after the re run gubernatorial election coming soon.

I urge Rivers people to get there powerful weapon ready which is the PVC to show our brother, leader, friend, Dr Peterside Dakuku love at the final nullification at the supreme court and to get ready for the re run of the gubernatorial election. Vote APC, Vote Dr Dakuku Peterside for governor.

IG Deploys 5,000 Policemen For Bayelsa Governorship Re-Run Election

The Inspector-General of Police (I-G), Mr Solomon Arase has deployed over 5,000 policemen for the Nov. 9 Bayelsa governorship Supplementary election in seven Local Government Areas.

This is contained in statement issued by the Force spokesperson, Acting Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP Olabisi Kolawole, in Abuja on Wednesday.

It said that adequate security logistics and manpower have been strategically deployed to achieve a most conducive electioneering atmosphere.

The statement said that a Deputy Inspector-General of Police had also been deployed to supervise security arrangements during the election.

It stated that he would be assisted by an Assistant Inspector-General of Police and three Commissioners of Police.

The statement said that extensive security operations had began in the state, including the deployment of detectives and surveillance helicopters for aerial patrols.

It said that gunboats and speed boats would complement the Police Marine Unit to convey security personnel and election materials to riverine communities.

The statement said that armed personnel from Police Mobile Force, Special Protection Unit as well as Counter Terrorism Unit were on ground to support the ongoing security operations in the State.

It stated that the I-G had placed a ban on movements in and out of the LGAs where elections would hold with effect from 6 a.m. to 6p.m. on the day of the election.

The statement said that the measure was to restrict the influx and movement of undesirable and criminal elements in and out of the affected Local Government Areas before and during the election.

It enjoined the citizens to come out enmasse to exercise their civic right, as the Police, assisted by other security agencies, would provide adequate security for them.

The statement advised them to shun violence and all forms of thuggery, as the full weight of the law would take its course on anyone apprehended.

It regretted any inconveniences that road users and the general public may suffer as a result of this restriction.

We’ll arrest more influential Nigerians soon — Magu EFCC chair

The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu, has said more influential Nigerians would soon be arrested to face prosecution as the EFCC under him has reinvigorated the fight against corruption in Nigeria.

Mr. Magu, who made the disclosure on Wednesday in Abuja at a forum with online and broadcast media managers, said since his appointment as acting chairman of the EFCC, he had undertaken the re-ordering of the agency’s priorities for effective implementation of its mandate.
“The effect of this, which is obvious for all to see, is the investigation, arrest and prosecution of some of the most powerful forces in Nigeria, who have questions to answer on their stewardship whilst in office.

“A former National Security Adviser, former ministers, former governors, serving and retired military men, a media mogul and several others, are among those we have called to answer critical questions concerning the management of our commonwealth.
“As we speak, many more influential Nigerians are on the radar of the EFCC and, in the coming weeks, they would have their days in court and Nigerians will be kept fully abreast of the results of our investigations,” Mr. Magu said.

The EFCC boss said in carrying out the mandate of the commission, he has been guided by the “fear of God, national interest and the rule of law”.
Mr. Magu said apart from bringing corrupt public officers to justice, the EFCC under his leadership is determined, in line with the stance of the current administration under President Muhammadu Buhari to send “unmistakable message” to everyone, that no Nigerian shall be regarded as above the law or treated as sacred cow as far as the fight against corruption is concerned.

The EFCC chairman, however, said the commission cannot succeed in carrying out its mandate without the support of the media.
He said the EFCC already has the support of all relevant bodies and organizations.
He said he held a meeting with the president on Wednesday, and that the message from Mr. Buhari was nothing but total support for the agency.

“By far more inspirational is the political will of Mr. President to fight corruption. This unbending will, which some now call body language has given the needed traction to the anti-graft campaign,” he said. Mr. Magu said Mr. Buhari’s resolve to fight corruption in Nigeria was underlined by his comments during his maiden media chat last Wednesday where he swore not to spare anyone found to be corrupt.

Mr. Magu quoted the president as saying,  “I don’t …tolerate corruption. When I was Head of State, I didn’t put anybody above the law. At this time, I assure you, I will not put anybody above the law… If anyone is caught, I will not only sack (him or her) but will ensure that the case is taken to court”.
He added that the president’s resolve is complemented by that of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Mahmud Mohammed, who, during the last All Nigerian Judges’ Conference, declared unwavering support for the war on corruption.

He added that at that same judges conference, Mr. Buhari expressed the concern of the Nigerian people for the undue delays experienced in the trial of corruption suspects.
The judiciary, he said, has responded with some practical steps in the form of the designation of selected courts to try EFCC cases and some practice directions.

“We believe that when holistically and effectively put into practice, the measures would drastically cut the time corruption cases spend in court before Nigerians know whether the accused is guilty as charged or innocent of the crime.

“As a Commission, the EFCC is very determined to put into productive effect, the provisions of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, (ACJA), 2015.  This law, which has been rightly labeled a legal “revolution”, by none other than Professor Itse Sagay, chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee on Anti-corruption, could not have come at a better time than now, when Nigerians are yearning for justice.

“On the part of the EFCC, I can assure you that the effect of our even more penetrating investigations and commitment to rid Nigeria of all forms of corruption and economic and financial crimes can –and will continue to be– seen from the cases we take to court for trial,” he said.
No political witch hunt
Mr. Magu also responded to comments from participants at the forum that a lot of Nigerians have a feeling that the ongoing war against corruption appears targeted at members of the opposition.

He said by his orientation, he has nothing to with politics and is therefore, not doing the bidding of a political party.
“Such accusations have come up a lot, but, we work with petitions before us, in fact, I am eager and waiting for something from the other side, but nothing has come so far,” he said.
Mr. Magu also said he had never been a fan of plea bargaining, adding however that he works within the laws of the land.

The managing editor of PREMIUM TIMES, Musikilu Mojeed, who spoke on behalf of the President of the Guild of Corporate Online Publishers, Malachy Agbo, said the group is fully committed to the ongoing fight against corruption and pledged the support of members to the EFCC.

He also asked Mr. Magu to consider partnering with the group in training journalists.

Soyinka Responds To Rivers Govt’s Call For His Probe Over “N82 Million Dinner”

Prof. Wole Soyinka

Nobel laureate, Wole Soyinka, has responded to claims by the Rivers State government that its former governor, Rotimi Amaechi, spent N82 million to organize a dinner in his honour.

In a statement, Wednesday, Mr. Soyinka said the “unprecedented call” for his probe was a form of corruption fighting back.

“This morning, I saw only the headlines in one or two print media regarding the 80th Birthday dinner to which I was hosted by the former governor of Rivers State, the Honorable Rotimi Amaechi, now Minister of Aviation,” said Mr. Soyinka.

RT.Hon Rotimi Amaechi Minister Of Aviation

“I ignored them. It was not, and remains not my business to probe into the catering and logistical implications of the hundreds of institutions and governments all over the world to whom I acknowledge an immense debt of unsolicited recognition over the years.

“Since then however, I have learnt of some unsavory statements by the insecure incumbent of the Rivers State government Lodge. These included a loose invitation to anti-crime agencies to investigate the potential crime of being honoured through any occasion.”

Austin Tam-George, the Rivers State Commissioner of Information, had said the government would begin a probe to the spent funds and would demand a refund if it found Mr. Soyinka received part of the funds.

‎”If he agrees that he received such funds, then he will be compelled to refund same to the coffers of Rivers State,” Mr. Tam-George said during a radio programme on Wednesday in Port Harcourt.

Austine Tam George Commissioner Of Information R/S

“At present, we have presented these details to the police for investigation and prosecution. We shall also take up this matter as a financial crime against the people of Rivers State.

” Mr. Soyinka said the Rivers government’s claims was warning he recounted in his recent publication, The Republic of Liars.

“Those words were: Corruption strikes back. In this ongoing instance, that expression translates most vividly as ‘Those who are neck deep in the sewage of corruption ensure that they splatter sewage in all possible and improbable directions.’

“I do however fully support the Wikeleaks call for multi-directional probes. I recommend further that he involve the services of INTERPOL to guarantee its extension to all international organisations and governments to whom I owe uncountable events of recognition – including birthday luncheons, dinners, cultural receptions and events of real, fictitious, or simply opportunistic flavoring – to which I have submitted myself.

“The descent to this present level of abominable distractions makes one truly despair. It is one that even I did not envisage when I warned – corruption strikes back.

“Whether it brings honour or dishonour to the nation is another matter – I am saddened, but indifferent.

“EFCC and company – over to you. You all know where I live.”

Spreading the Dakuku Gospel: Out of the mouth of babes, the truth is revealed.
By Lawrence Tuotamuno Banigo

I had only just touched base(Port Harcourt) on 2nd January to do a few things before returning to the field for more work as we have elections closeby.

Took some time to rest and so, just yesterday I was within the Oyigbo axis. It was an unintentional act though. I was being introduced and my activism for APC wasn't left out, it was a Chief Superintendent of Police (Rtd.) while the introduction went on, I heard them say "he looks so small" and they laughed.

So the man looked at me and said, "I'm in support of your course. Infact I'm the property of the federal government and I know no one threatens the FG, so what was that man thinking when he said INEC should write their will?"

"Let me tell you he said, Mr President, the security agencies, @APCNigeria all have that clip documented. It wasn't on radio he said that but on TV, you wait and see how they'll use that one thing to mess him up in the rerun. No true leader does that, he's only asserting that truly there was no election that brought him to power. He used INEC, security, thugs and the presidency to get there but because he knows same measures may be deployed against him, he's ranting like a confused man" as he spake, my eyes widened in surprise.

The both of them (the one who introduced me and the one I was being introduced to) picked on the incoming governor, Dr. Dakuku Adol Peterside. (I wasn't campaigning here, they were giving me the Dakukurated gospel), "Dakuku is a peaceful and educated man who loves everyone irrespective of their origin, his works as commissioner still speaks volume not to talk of his days as a member in the House of Representatives. The man is sound"

"Amaechi picked him because of his performing character and he is loyal", they said. Please my brother, don't forget me when you finally make it and I responded with a "NO". So I told them about registering with the party, escorted them to a registeration point in the area with a promise to regularly check on them.

In all these, one thing is certain. You can't kill and idea whose time has come. Rivers State is yet to receive her Governor, one who truly is the unifying factor in the state politics. If you doubt me, mention his name and see members of political parties accross boards and even the undecided gather to discuss with you. The message has gone far but we won't rest on our oars yet. For us, the job has only just began.

Lawrence Banigo writes from Port Harcourt

Steps On How To Love Ya Men

How To Love Ya Man

1. Start by Loving Yourself
As I said to the men, this is not being selfish. If you are unable to love yourself you are unable to love someone else.

Women often have trouble with this because they spend too much time loving others. They can airbrush themselves out of the picture and use up all their love on their man, their children and others.

Loving yourself is the basis of life and the basis of a balanced personality. How can you take another’s love for you seriously if you don’t belief you are worth loving?

2. Just Love Him For Himself
Men have many qualities we love, perhaps they’re strong, or sexy, or inspirational, or funny, or even rich. Understand that this is not why you love him, you love him just because of him, nothing else.

Your love is not conditional, it is not based on any special qualities. You love him.

Men, however, often think that it’s their special blend of qualities that attracts you. Encourage your man to understand that it’s not those qualities but their being themselves that you love. This is so crucial in knowing how to love a man.

3. Live In Your Femininity
Whilst you may want to impress the man you love you must not stop being the woman you are. Your love should come from inside yourself, from your very soul. The love must be part of your femininity — however you express it — and be part of how you live.

Remain just who you are, be the woman he met and fell in love with, that’s how to love a man.

He finds excitement in your femininity, particularly when it laced with love. Don’t ever let him down.

4. Don’t Be His Mother
Men often retain a bond with their mother and like to be looked after by them. Don’t drift into being his mother or try to supercede her. He needs you as a lover.

Women can end up just taking care of their man and men accept this. This is potentially disastrous. He doesn’t really want this from you.

This is especially true after you have children. Take care you still treat him as your lover, this will be what he is missing.

5. Get To Know Him
How often do you feel a man drift away from you saying, “my wife doesn’t understand me”. Don’t let him go there, understand him.

Love can only grow and deepen through understanding. You can never get to the point where you think you know everything about him.

You may think a man is simple, in fact he is a complex person that even he doesn’t understand.

You need to love him and get to know him with patience and determination, this is a key to how to love a man.

6. Count Your Blessings
That means the blessings you have together, the things you have achieved together, all that you are as a couple.

This should be a regular part of your life together. It’s ok to recount the great things in the past but this should be tempered with looking at the amazing things you are going to do in the future.

As a rule of thumb it is advisable to expect a future way beyond one that you can imagine. Expectations can lead to frustration if they limit you, expecting them to go way beyond is a good step into the future.

7. Give Him Space
Whilst a woman often needs attention, a man needs space and time. Men thrive on being focused and directed and sometimes need to clear their minds to focus on what is important to them at that moment. Accept it may not be you.

It can be important to give him time to respond to a situation. Women often respond immediately, instinctively, but a man can take more time, to reflect and formulate a response. Understand this and give him the time, don’t jump in.

There are times, also, when men need space just to be… well, nothing. Men thrive on periods of emptiness, allow them that. Get this right and you will really know how to love a man.

8. Receive As Well As Give
Love is about giving more than receiving but if you give too much you close off the channel for love.

It is crucial that you are able to receive the love that is offerred to you by him otherwise it quickly dies. It may not come in the form you expect, look out for it, however subtle, and accept it in the spirit it was given.

Don’t shower him with more love than he can receive.

Give him time to respond.

9. Make Him Feel Amazing
Men need to feel good about themselves and often don’t. They may live in their power but not be convinced by it.

Make him feel he deserves it, make him realise he is the man he would like to be.

It’s important to do this from a genuine appreciation of him and his qualities.

He should believe what you say otherwise everything disappears.

Inspire him to be more of himself. You have to understand this to know how to love a man.

10. Start Afresh Each Day
I talked about this in, “How do You Keep it Fresh? – 10 Steps to Heaven“. I said,

“Start again as if it was the first day of the relationship. Welcome her into your world and look forward to your day together. Give her your love and tell her you love her. Do it again in a different way and repeat. I’m sure I don’t have to tell you where to go from here.”

This applies equally to you and your man. The refreshing of your love will keep it alive and bring you closer to each other. Through this your love will deepen and become an essential part of everyday you spend together.

As a woman you will succeed if make your man feel amazing. Inspire him to feel more of himself, then he will feel like a man.
